a sprawling forest nestled on the fringes of heaven and hell, purgatorio's royal lands consist of densely-packed trees, mostly maple, oak, and pine. the land is mostly flat, the ground soft. in fall, the colors explode; in summer, small forest fires keep the growth in check. a small brook cuts through the eastern side, the water clear and crisp, and following it will lead to a ring of towering pines, in which sleeps the royal family.
